Dance team defined my high school years. It was everything to me and I've met such great people during my time on dance. People that I can look up to throughout all aspects of life, people I know I can rely on for many years to come, and my very best friends. Being a part of dance team helped mold me into the person I am today. It helped shape my discipline, sharpened my respect for others, brought out the leader within myself, and taught me how to take in criticism and use it to make me a better dancer and person in general.
I'm very much enjoying coming back to the team and coaching. It's very different from being a member, and I just want to give back to what helped me become the person I am today. I can only hope to do my part in giving these kids the best kind of experience they can have.

I was given the opportunity to be on leadership with 6 other members. Joining the dance team was one of the best decisions I have ever made. With my experience on the team I have learned how to work hard, be self motivated and passionate. If you ask me what I remember most about my experience it would be hanging out with my friends before or after practice, the bus rides, and team roaming at competitions. My favorite team was coed traditional because I love stunting and acting silly on stage. This team was never overly serious and it was almost always about having fun.
When I heard there was a possibility of the team ending in 2013 I quickly jumped at the opportunity to become the director. This team has given me so much when I was on it, so I wanted to do what I could to provide this experience for other students. This is my third year and I absolutely love my job. I learn from my students everyday, they continue to help me grow into a stronger, kinder, understanding person. They make me laugh and they keep me on my toes. My only hope is to provide all of them with a rich and meaningful experience.

I truly believe every experience is what you make of it. I can confidently speak for all past, present, and even future members; MMDT has given me some of the best memories of my life. I truly believe that this program is not only beneficial for students during their High School career, but here, they will learn life-long lessons while being a part of an organization that is a genuine family. I have never worked with so many highly motivated, dedicated, and passionate young adults.
My advice is to never give up, on anything. "Nobody said it was going to be easy, they just said it'd be worth it."
